The National Deacon of The Church of Pentecost in South Africa, Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe, who was kidnapped on Sunday has been released.

He has currently been reunited with his family, Newstitbits has gathered from our sources in South Africa.

The church elder was kidnapped by armed robbers during a robbery attack on the Church.

The incident happened at the Johannesburg branch of The Church of Pentecost during the church’s mega offering on October 29, 2023.

The congregants were robbed at gunpoint with their monies, mobile phones, tablets, handbags and other valuables taken away from them.

Ghana’s High Commission in South Africa on Monday issued a statement to confirm the attack and kidnap of Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe.

“Kindly note that the South African Police is fully focused on the matter and is working hard to ensure the safe return of our compatriot,” the High Commission said.

Also, The Church of Pentecost with the international headquarters based in Accra, Ghana, declared a three-day fasting and prayers for the safe release of the National Deacon as well as the wellbeing of the affected members of the Church.

It also raised a prayer for peace in the world with particular focus on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

“In the meantime, the church will embark on a three-day prayer and fasting session from October 31 to November 2, 2023, for the health and release of our brother,” Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye declared in his statement.

“During the period, we will also be interceding for Global Peace, with particular emphasis on the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine,” the statement added.

Barely a day into the three-day fasting and prayers, confirmation came that Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe has been released by his captors.

“By the grace of God, the National Deacon of South Africa, Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe has come home now alive. God has done it again miraculously.  Thank you for your prayers,” a message shared on the church’s WhatsApp platforms and attributed to Apostle Alexader Yiadom-Boakye, the National Head of The Church of Pentecost in South Africa confirmed his release.

His release has also been confirmed by the Ghana High Commission in South Africa.

“The Church of Pentecost Deacon/Elder was freed last night. He is with his family now,” Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Charles Owiredu wrote on X formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, November 1.
