Former President John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, advising him to keep his cool.
This comes after President Akufo-Addo expressed indignation at the name calling and politics of insults attributed to his predecessor.
Speaking on TV XYZ, the former president defended his actions and called on President Akufo-Addo to maintain his cool and attend to more important issues.
“I think that temperament in leadership is very important and there are many things a President should attend to and you must not appear in public to have lost your cool,” the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said.
“He seemed very angry, that’s true but I think he should maintain his temperament to come across as a good leader,” he added
The former President further explained that no one had described the president’s ethnic group or any ethnic group in the manner in which he complained about.
“What I remember is I shared a post of one of our very fine and brilliant MPs for Bolgatanga Central, that is Hon. Isaac Adongo, and in that post Adongo described certain people in Akufo-Addo’s government and you know he has a lot of members of his family and friends in his government. So Isaac Adongo described those behind a certain shady and untidy deal in the government in a particular manner.”
Former President Mahama stated that per his track record as a former President and working with Akyems in his past government, there’s no way he can be tagged as being tribalistic.
He also accused President Akufo-Addo of name-calling, condemning him for such and said it is totally out of place for a sitting President to do so.
