Release data on second tier or face our anger – CLOGSAG to govt

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association Ghana (CLOGSAG) has given government three months to release data on second tier pension contributors or risk their anger. Its executive secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo said the delay has affected benefits to be calculated for those who will be retiring from 2019. He gave the warning as part of his Christmas message to government at a gathering in Accra. The executive secretary was worried that SSNIT and the  National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) failed to release data on those who have so far contributed to the second tier pension scheme. “The assurance given that by December of 2018 that the issue would be resolved did not materialise,” Mr. Bampoe Addo underscored. Of major concern to CLOGSAG, he noted, was the wrongful calculation of pass credit for contributors. Pass credit is calculated based on the number of years one serves in the service.
