The police have retrieved skeletons suspected to be human body parts of the three missing Takoradi girls.
The body parts were found in a septic tank behind the house of the key suspect, Samuel Udoetek-Wills.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to 3news.com, a team of police officers believed to have travelled from Accra visited the place with the suspect, emptied the septic tank and retrieved some skeletons.
The eyewitness noted, however, that the team of police personnel was led by the Western Regional Police Command.
Some family members of the kidnapped girls, when contacted by 3news.com‘s Western Region correspondent Eric Adjei, said the police had not officially communicated anything to them regarding an operation at the suspect’s residence.
Although they admitted hearing news about the operation in the media, the worried families said the police have not said anything to them officially.
The retrieved skeletons are yet to undergo forensic tests to prove whether they are indeed those of the missing girls.
Background to kidnap case
The three kidnapped girls – Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie – went missing last year.
Following this, suspect Samuel Udoetek-Wills was arrested but he broke jail in December, 2018. He was later re-arrested.
He is currently in police custody while investigations are underway on the matter.
On April 2, 2019, CID boss Maame Tiwaa Addo -Danquah assured the general public that the police knew the whereabouts of the missing girls and was working towards returning them to their respective families.
Meanwhile, the police have confirmed Friday night’s operation and assured that the skeletons will be subjected to forensic tests for confirmation or otherwise.
