After a week’s break, the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League returns with Asante Kotoko hosting Bechem United on Friday night.
The match will be played at the adopted home grounds of Asante Kotoko, Accra Sports Stadium, following renovation works at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
It will be a game to savour for fans of the Porcupine Warriors as it comes after widely reported fission within the ranks following the side’s exit from the FA Cup at the expense of Division One side Asokwa Deportivo.
Kotoko come up against a side that is just below them on the log. The Ahafo Region side are 6th with 17 points, one shy of the Reds.
Asante Kotoko have recorded only one win in their last five matches, having played their last two home games behind closed-doors.
The renovation works towards the 63rd independence anniversary celebrations forced Kotoko, as well as King Faisal Babes, to choose new grounds to host their matches.
Kotoko chose Accra Sports Stadium, where they have not lost this season. They beat both Legon Cities and archrivals Hearts of Oak.
Friday’s encounter will be refereed by Kenny Padi and he will assisted by Kofi Nyarko Bakai and Roland Addy.
There will be two matches on Saturday.
