President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has relieved Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon Constituency Vincent Sowah Odotei of his post as a Deputy Minister of Communications.
In his place has been appointed Alexander Kodwo Kom Abban, who until this latest reshuffle serves as a Deputy Minister of Health.
Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Constituency Dr Bernard Oko-Boye has been appointed as a Deputy Minister of Health.
These were communicated in a release signed by the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin, on Monday, April 6
The release was silent on the reasons for this reshuffle but it is apparent it has a lot to do with the country’s fight against coronavirus.
Dr Oko-Boye, who is a member of the Health Committee of Parliament, has been vocal in sensitising Ghanaians on the safety measures in the fight against the viral disease.
“President Akufo-Addo is hopeful that Parliament will expedite the vetting of the Deputy Minister-designate for Health, so he can assume his office as quickly as possible.”
The president was thankful to Mr Sowah Odotei “for his services to the country, and wishes him well in his future endeavours”.
While Dr Oko-Boye, when approved by Parliament’s Vetting and Appointments Committee, will join Tina Mensah as deputies to Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, Mr Kom Abban, who is also MP for Gomoa West Constituency, will join George Andah as deputies to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
