The family of Samuel Aboagye, one of the eight victims of the August 6 helicopter clash, have sued widow Abigail Salami over failure to make their child available for a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test.
A senior brother of the deceased, Nana Gyamerah Kwabena Yiakwan, told journalists that Abigail has just refused to make the child available for the DNA test for no apparent reason.
He said she had refused that request when government wanted to identify the charred bodies for the befitting burial.
“We just want to have a clear mind, that is why we ant to have the DNA test,” Nana Gyamerah said.
He added that they did not want the situation to come out but she has caused it.
According to Samuel Aboagye’s senior brother, he had been told a secret by the deceased aside knowing all what transpired during the marriage.
The deceased, who was on board the Z-9 GAF helicopter as the Deputy Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), was also the 2024 Obuasi East Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Funeral for the eight lives lost was held on Friday, August 15 at the Black Stars Square.
Cause of the deadly crash has been given as sudden loss of altitude and lift due to downdraft.
