The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has announced arrangements for her final funeral rites, scheduled for Friday, November 28, 2025, at Independence Square, Accra.
Speaking to the media Tuesday, Oheneba Akwasi Abayie, Otumfuo Akomforehene, said the day’s events will begin at 6 a.m. with the arrival of the cortege. The family has asked all mourners to wear black, noting there will be no official funeral attire. Security personnel will guide attendees to designated seating.

The family emphasized that November 28 will mark the final funeral ceremony, with no additional services to be held elsewhere, ensuring that all sympathizers can participate. “The funeral is open to the general public, and everyone is invited to participate fully,” Abayie said.
Nana Konadu, founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and former First Lady, passed away on October 23, 2025. The government has confirmed that a state funeral will be held in her honor, highlighting her enduring impact on Ghana’s political and social landscape.
