Struggling Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Eleven Wonders have woes compounded following the sudden resignation of veteran coach Josef Emmanuel Sarpong.
JE Sarpong, as he is affectionately known, took up the reins of the club on Sunday, November 2 in what was expected to turn the fortunes around following a poor start to life again in the top-flight league.
He had replaced former U-17 star Nii Odartey Lamptey, who had gone about seven matches without a win.
However, JE Sarpong failed to win all three games he superintended in his spell, the last being a 1-1 draw against fellow newcomers in the 2025/26 GPL Hohoe United.
“Coach JE Sarpong tendered in his resignation on personal grounds and after mutual discussions,” the club said in a statement dated November 23, 2025.
“The club has accepted his decision,” it noted, expressing profound gratitude to the veteran coach for “his contributions and the impact he made on the players, technical team and the entire Eleven Wonders family during his short tenure”.
“Management wishes Coach Joseph Emmanuel Sarpong the very best in his future endeavours.”
It announced that interim and permanent coaching arrangements will be communicated.
