The Ghana Police Service has retrieved a vehicle used in the high-profile Adabraka Gold Jewellery Shop robbery as investigations into the November 2024 incident continue.
In a statement, police said a Toyota Highlander identified as one of the vehicles used in the robbery was recovered on Thursday, 15 January 2026, at Ashaiman Lebanon. The vehicle was retrieved from its owner, Abdul Samid Larry, popularly known as “Touch,” who was arrested during the operation.
The police said the vehicle has been impounded as an exhibit to support ongoing investigations into the daylight robbery, which shocked residents of Accra and sparked widespread public concern over security.
Mr Larry is currently in lawful custody and is assisting investigators as efforts intensify to determine his level of involvement in the crime and to identify and trace other individuals connected to the robbery.
The Adabraka incident, which occurred in November 2024, involved the armed robbery of a gold jewellery shop in broad daylight, prompting a nationwide manhunt and a series of intelligence-led operations by the police.
The Ghana Police Service said the latest development forms part of a broader strategy to dismantle criminal networks linked to the robbery and recover all items used in the commission of the offence.
Police have reiterated their assurance to the public that investigations remain active and comprehensive, adding that all persons found to be involved will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
The Service also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining public confidence in law enforcement.
