Ghana has commissioned its first-ever Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility, marking a significant milestone in the country’s energy transition efforts.
The facility was inaugurated by the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, in collaboration with Tetracore Gas Ghana Limited. Speaking at the commissioning, Jinapor described the project as a decisive step towards cleaner, more affordable and reliable energy for the country.

He said the CNG facility would help reduce Ghana’s dependence on expensive liquid fuels, while supporting industrial growth and creating jobs. Jinapor commended Tetracore Gas Ghana Limited for its vision and commitment to advancing Ghana’s energy infrastructure.

The minister reaffirmed government’s support for expanding gas supply and strengthening the nation’s energy systems, noting that the project aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s Gas-to-Power Policy aimed at promoting sustainable energy and economic growth.
