A Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Gbande, has confessed that he is doing the bidding of his party at the Jubilee House.
Also the current Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande said he is there to make sure party officials are attended to when they visit the Presidency.
Speaking on the new guidelines by the party on internal elections on Accra-based Onua TV on Friday, January 30, he said all those to be affected were part of the decision-making.
“It was taken to NEC twice, so it is not the Chairman and General Secretary sitting down to craft this,” he stated in local language.
Asked if he will also be affected, he said he will not as he continues to serve the party not only outside but within the Presidency.
“The work I do is not like Christmas work,” he said. “When you are out there, you may die if you don’t take time because of the pressure that is there.
“I am doing the party’s work there. For example, if a party chairman is coming to Jubilee House and doesn’t know the security officers, so far as his Deputy General Secretary is there, they will call me and I will facilitate his entry for official work.”
The NDC has asked all government appointees to resign six months to internal elections, generating controversy among members.
