The Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu has promoted sixty-eight Superintendents of Police (Supt.) to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (C/Supt.). One person was promoted posthumously.
Furthermore, one Chief Superintendent of Police (C/Supt.) has also been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), with one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) being promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP.
The promotions follow approval by the Police Council and expected to take effect on January 1, 2018 except for the posthumous promotion which took effect from September 22, 2017.
