Parliament has expressed grave concern over the continued detention of the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO). The Parliamentary Committee on Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs has commended the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) for its significant financial turnaround, moving from a debt position of about GH¢20 million to recording more than GH¢96 million in profit in 2025. The Chairman of Parliament’s Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee, Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has called for the establishment of a National Agriculture Development Fund to accelerate Ghana’s food systems transformation agenda. The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has disclosed that Ghana has suffered simultaneous cuts on three different fibre routes supplying capacity to the five Northern Regions and parts of the Oti Region. According to the Minister, multiple cuts occurred on the Kintampo-Buipe fibre route, on the MTN section, at 0419GMT.
