Two school girls have been reported missing in Mallam and Gbawe, in the Greater Accra Region. According to a report from the Accra Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, the children – Betty Afanyibo and Theresa Koranteng – left home for school last Friday. But their guardians – Desmond Afanyibo and Stephen Okoampah respectively – said they have not returned since. Both children are said to be 15 years of age. Retrenched workers of AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) are demanding the immediate release of their heritage fund from government. The Ghana Railways Development Authority has handed over a $2 million worth of track maintenance equipment to the Ghana Railways Company Limited (GRCL). The equipment will enable the Company undertake rehabilitation and maintenance of the country’s existing and under-construction rail lines with precision. Despite showing remorse for his action and consequently apologizing, boxer Patrick Allotey has pleaded not guilty to charges of causing harm levelled against him. He appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Monday, February 10.
