A leading charity, Marie Stopes, says it has recalled more than a million condoms distributed in Uganda following concerns about their safe use. Tests had found some of the Indian-manufactured Life Guard brand contained holes or risked bursting, Uganda’s National Drug Authority (NDA) said. Marie Stopes provides contraception and family planning services in more than 35 countries. Nearly 6% of adults in Uganda live with HIV, the UN says. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the government of Ghana and The Boeing Company for three airplanes to start the new Ghana International Airlines. The MoU was signed on Tuesday, November 19 at the Dubai Air Show. According to a statement issued by Boeing, the three airplanes are with a list price value of $877.5 million. The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is accusing the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Jean Adukwei Mensa, and one of her deputies, Dr Bossman Eric Asare of being affiliates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) given their actions and decisions. Leadership of separatist group Homeland Study Group Foundation has taken exception to a statement issued by the Minister of Information over its recent move to declare independence. Speaker of Parliament Reverend Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye on Tuesday suspended sitting after few members turned up for business. The members did not form a quorum leaving the Speaker with little option than to suspend sitting. The state security agencies have taken steps to ensure that persons who recently declared their independence from Ghana are dealt with according to law, the Information Minister has stated. This comes in the wake of videos circulating that Homeland Study Group Foundation over the weekend declared their long-awaited secession from Ghana. Octogenarian Charles Komi Kudzordi last Saturday led the Foundation to declare Western Togoland an independent state.
