Four boys on Saturday, September 21 got drowned in a river at a Kumasi suburb, Breman, in the Suame municipality of the Ashanti Region The incident occurred at about 5:30pm. It comes barely two days after a primary six pupil got drowned at Bantama-Kokoso in Kumasi. The boys reportedly went to swim in the Nwabi River, which had overflown its banks following torrential downpour earlier in the week. Cameroon’s Sports Ministry has announced that the former Portuguese footballer Toni Conceicao has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indomitable Lions. The 57-year-old, most recently coach of CFR Cluj in Romania, succeeds Dutch legend Clarence Seedorf who was sacked from the post in July following Cameroon’s early exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. An American man has drowned while proposing to his girlfriend underwater on holiday in Tanzania. Steven Weber and his girlfriend, Kenesha Antoine, were staying in a submerged cabin at the Manta Resort, off Pemba Island. Footage shows Mr Weber diving under water to ask Ms Antoine to marry him. In the video, Mr Weber presses a hand-written proposal note against the cabin window as Ms Antoine films from inside.
