As part of measures to eradicate or minimize corruption at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), and by extension other airports in Ghana, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has posted warning notices in almost all offices at its facilities. The notices are to warn workers to stay away from taking bribes from clients, thereby impeding the free flow of services. The vigilance of a group of young men including some taxi drivers has led to the arrest of a 26-year-old youngman, who allegedly killed a taxi driver at Swedru and bolted with his car. The suspect, Isaac Mensah, popularly known as Agyabu, is currently in the custody of the Takoradi Market Circle Police. The Northern Regional Police Command is calling for strong four-wheel drive vehicles to help them combat crime by patrol in the remote areas of the Region. This call comes in the wake the renewed clashes in Chereponi, where one died and several others injured following the Anufus and Kokombas fighting each other. The police said it will need over 10 4X4 vehicles to enable them patrol the remote areas of Chereponi since that area is very big. The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) is visiting the ongoing construction site of the road interchange at Pokuase on Monday, March 18. A huge fireball exploded in the Earth’s atmosphere in December, according to Nasa. The blast was the second largest of its kind in 30 years, and the biggest since the fireball over Chelyabinsk in Russia six years ago. But it went largely unnoticed until now because it blew up over the Bering Sea, off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula.
