Staff of the Komenda College of Education have bemoaned the allocation of programmes to the College by the Ministry of Education. According to them, the College and others across the country would be without students if the Ministry goes ahead with the current allocation plan. One of the architects of Ghana’s local government structure, Professor Kwamena Ahwoi, says the Presidential Transition Act of 2012, Act 845, was misinterpreted by the current government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Private laboratory scientists have threatened to join the ongoing strike by their counterparts in the public sector if government does not resolve the latter’s grievances. According to the Association of Private Medical Laboratories, the strike by the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) is taking a toll on their services and they have no option than to join their colleagues. Fifty suspected illegal immigrants mostly Nigerians, including a female, have been rounded up by the intelligence directorate of the Ghana Police Service at Gomoa Budumburam in the Central Region. Forty-six laptops, mobile phones and assorted electronic gadgets were also retrieved. The suspects were believed to have engaged in various criminal acts including cyber-related crimes and robberies.
