Three persons with the highest votes in the Vice Chair elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)  were declared winners on Saturday, as part of the 26th delegates’ conference. Seven persons had contested for the three positions at the 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Congress held at the Koforidua Technical University. Among the seven was a former Member of Parliament, George Isaac Amoo, and a former regional minister, Agnes Asangalisa Chigabatia. A popular supporter of Hearts of Oak, Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has been elected as the National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Aziz, as he is affectionately called, polled 201 votes to beat 13 other contestants in elections held at the Koforidua Technical University as part of the 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Conference of the party. Acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddie Worsemao Blay has been elected as the substantive National Chairman, for the next four years. He beat competition from two others to lay hands on the post. Mr Blay, who was accused of vote-buying prior to Saturday’s elections, polled 3,021 votes to beat Stephen Ayesu Ntim (2,515) and Dr Richard Amoako Baah (18) to the post. National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah has been re-elected for another four-year term. Mr Abankwa-Yeboah beat five other contenders to emerge victorious at the Koforidua Tehchnical University Park, where the elections were held. The pharmacist polled 2,492 votes of the 5,510 valid votes cast to emerge winner. Second placed Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama polled 1,050 votes while Mary Posch-Oduro with 1,004 votes placed third. John Boadu will now assume the position of substantive General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following his victory in Saturday’s national executive elections held during the 26th National Delegates’ Conference. The former National Organiser polled 4,277 votes to beat sole contender Richard Ahiagbah. Richard Ahiagbah polled 1,274 votes. The results were certified by the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), who supervised the elections. Mr Boadu will succeed Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, who was handed an indefinite suspension in 2015, as the party’s new scribe. Kate Gyamfua is the new National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after beating closest contender Joyce Konokie Zempare in elections held on Saturday. The elections, held during the 26th National Delegates’ Conference of the NPP, put Ms Gyamfua way ahead with 686 votes. The certified results from the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) stationed at the grounds had Ms Zempare on 109 votes. There was a total of 795 valid votes cast with two rejected. A Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Henry Nana Boakye, has won the National Youth Organiser elections of the New Patriotic Party. Nana B, as he is affectionately called, polled 423 votes as against 246 by his closest contender, Dominic Kwesi Eduah, who aspires to go a notch up from his position as Deputy National Youth Organiser. The sights at NPP’s 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Conference continue to overwhelm beholders at the Koforidua Technical University Park. One man who claims to be the bishop of the party is Bishop Nana Addo. Boldly engrossed on his mitre, Bishop Nana Addo’s name is obviously coined from the three-time leader of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
