The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has doled out a total of $2.5 million to the five Africa qualifiers of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. A decision was reached at a meeting on the sidelines of the 2018 FIFA World Cup draw to have Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco and Senegal share the amount equally to prepare for the tournament. Two first year students of Kumasi Academy are reported dead after being rushed to the hospital on Thursday. The students died at the KNUST hospital, where they were taken to after being taken ill for showing symptoms of fever. Three others are said to be on admission for the same illness, which is yet to be disclosed. The two are said to be a General Science and Business students. Police in India say they have arrested a man whose smelly socks caused a dispute between him and fellow passengers on a bus. They told the BBC they had lodged a complaint against Prakash Kumar, 27, for “causing a public nuisance”. The incident occurred en route to the capital, Delhi, after Mr Kumar removed his shoes and socks. The stench from the socks was so bad that passengers asked Mr Kumar to put them in his bag or throw them out. But he allegedly refused, sparking a heated argument. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused the US of seeking to provoke North Korea into stepping up its nuclear missile programme. He rejected a call by the American envoy to the UN Security Council to sever ties with the North after its latest ballistic missile test.
