The High Court order asking the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service to grant embattled Indian businessman Ashok Kumar Sivaram a temporary residence visa will stay following the withdrawal of its challenge by the Attorney General’s Department. The AG’s Department led by Jasmine Armah challenged August’s order for stay of execution at the Appeals Court. She also filed an application to seek a complete halt to the order. During an October 31 ceremony hosted at the U.S. Embassy, Ambassador Robert P. Jackson honoured nine Ghanaian communities selected to receive grants to promote education, agriculture and economic growth at the local level. The death is reported of former Black Stars midfielder Yakubu Abubakar. The former Ajax and Vitesse Arnhem player died in a hospital in Tema on Tuesday after a short illness.
