Zimbabwe has officially declared 21 February to be Robert Gabriel Mugabe National Youth Day, thereby making the former president’s birthday a public holiday, the Herald newspaper reports. New President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to form a cabinet this week. Mr Mugabe resigned last week after a military intervention and days of mass protests. Renowned educationist Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah has stated that Ghana’s current education system is further pushing the Ghanaian child out of the classroom. This, the professor, blamed on the politicization of Ghana’s educational system. Renowned scholar and educationist Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah has underscored the importance of moral education in Ghana’s educational system. French President Emmanuel Macron starts his first tour of Africa on Monday. He is to visit Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana in an effort to revitalise France’s image on the continent.
