The Member of Parliament for Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region, Edward Abambire Bawa, believes the government has collapsed homes with the ban on small scale mining in the country. Ghana coach James Kwasi Appiah has made a donation to the Africa Widows and Widowers Foundation at Nima, Accra. The items, which included bags of rice, cooking oil and detergent estimated around GH¢10, 000, was part of Appiah’s social responsibility to the less privileged in society. Karpowership Ghana Company Limited has connected its 470 MW Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan to the national grid. The Powership, which arrived in August this year, has completed all requisite commissioning works, operational tests and has begun supplying power to the national grid. This will significantly help ameliorate the power supply in the country. The operation of Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan is in consonance with the Power Purchase Agreement signed with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) requiring Karpowership to supply a total of 450 MW into the national grid for 10 years. Ghana has been sanctioned by the world football governing body, FIFA, for breaching articles 5 and 25 of the regulations of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. Ghana is said to have failed to hoist a flag at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the 1-1 Group E draw with Congo. According to FIFA, there were no flags even flown at the stadium. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated the entire membership of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) “for the successful conduct of their elections”. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated Former President John Agyekum Kufuor over the latter’s recent award from the University of Hull. The former leader was decorated with the first ever Wilberforce World Freedom Medal from the University’s Wilberforce Institute. Northern Region Minister Salifu Sa-eed has directed all metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) to disregard an earlier letter signed on his behalf as regards the impending trip of the president to the region. The letter signed for the Minister by Chief Director of the Regional Coordinating Council Alhassan Issahaku ordered the MMDCEs in the Region to pay GH¢5,000 each as contribution for President Nana Akufo-Addo’s trip to the north. Controversial Ghanaian songstress MzBel, born Nana Akua Amoah, has disclosed that she fasts two times in a week after she denounced Christianity some years ago. Mzbel last week stirred controversy when she insisted that Judaism is more sensible than Christianity.
