The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) will on Saturday, October 21 hold its 4th National Convention at the New GNAT Hall in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. According to a release on Sunday, the Convention will strategise plans for the proposed local government elections scheduled to be held in 2018. The party will also review strategies for the 2020 elections. The Convention will be themed: ‘Election of MMDCEs for Rapid National Development’. uniBank Ghana Limited has expressed displeasure at a recent press release from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) regarding a contract to render onsite banking services at Ghana’s foremost health facility. The blow-by-blow account given by the Public Relations Unit of KBTH in a press release justified the termination of the contract talks with uniBank for Stanbic Bank. It also exonerated Chief Executive Officer Dr Felix Anyah of any wrongdoing. Police in Las Vegas are responding to reports of an active shooter near the Mandalay Bay Hotel. At least one gunman is reported to have opened fire at a country music festival being held on the Las Vegas strip. Videos on social media show hundreds of people fleeing from the scene. Ghana’s leading media and communications firm Media General says it will engage the National Communications Authority (NCA) following the inclusion of 3FM, one of its subsidiary radio stations, in the list of defaulting media firms. The list by NCA contained 131 media stations accused of various infractions some which are non-payment of license renewals.
