Actress Vicky Zugah believes some churches are not doing their members any favours with pre-marital counseling but rather paving the way for them to end up in hell. Counseling has become the norm for most couples who intend to get married after having been in a relationship for some time but there have been concerns about whether people practise laid down procedures set by God. Avoiding pre-marital sex, for example, is a must for Christians as part of marriage preparations. Making her point on The Purple Room on Angel TV, the actress stated that the direction of some churches on…
Freight forwarders have raised concerns over the “aggressive” timeline in the implementation of the paperless system at the ports as directed by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. They claim though they have been involved in meetings since the announcement by Vice President Bawumia in May, a lot more should have been done before the takeoff on Friday, September 1. Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues on Saturday, the President of the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Kwabena Ofosu Appiah, said “I think that if we had anticipated a very aggressive timeline and had probably put ourselves in better shape, we would…
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a terror offence in connection with Friday’s attack on a London Tube train. Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick described the attack…

Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency Dr Clement Apaak says all the recent concerns raised by former president Jerry John Rawlings regarding the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are already being addressed with the roadmap of the Kwesi Botchwey Committee report. He, therefore, said the concerns are not new and just a “reminder” to the party. The founder of the NDC, Mr Rawlings, on Friday asserted that his party may not reclaim power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020 given the apparent disunity in the former and the growing popularity of the latter’s leader based on the implementation…

Speaking on TV3’s New Day on Saturday, the New Patriotic Party MP said the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government has been diligent in making sure workers are given what they are due. He said the recent agitations have to do with the management of the second-tier pension funds during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. Over the week,…
An audit of the electronic system used to tally votes in Kenya’s cancelled presidential poll showed no manipulation of data, the French biometrics firm that supplied the system told AFP Friday. Opposition leader Raila Odinga has accused the company, OT-Morpho, of being complicit in alleged rigging of the election, which was declared null and void by the country’s Supreme Court due to “irregularities and illegalities” in the transmission of results. While the court has yet to deliver its final judgement detailing what went wrong, OT-Morpho said an “in-depth audit” of the system showed the opposition’s claims about hacking to be…

Nigerian government has classified the Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) as a terrorist group, as earlier reported by the BBC. Declaring Ipob a terrorist organisation opens the door for mass arrests and military operations against the group. The problem with this move is that the Nigerian military might have underestimated the amount of support and sympathy Ipob has in the south-east of Nigeria and the problems their alienation could feed. It could open up a third frontier of active confrontation for the Nigerian forces, after Boko Haram in the north-east and the Niger Delta – neither of which have been…
