The Ghana School of Survey and Mapping has been re-opened for academic activities after a month of closure by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. The School will open for full activities on Monday, June 12, according to John-Peter Amewu. He said the issues that led to the shutdown of the school have been successfully resolved. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lined up a “massive durbar” at the Mandela Park in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region to mark its Silver jubilee. The current leading opposition party was founded on June 10, 1992 ahead of the elections that marked the return to constitutional rule, later to be the Fourth Republic. Ahead of the 25th anniversary, the party took stock in Elmina in the Central Region to “retool” ahead of the next elections in 2020. The fallen hero, late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama who was slain in line of duty, has been laid to rest with full military honours. A burial service was held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on June 9, after which he was buried at the Osu Military Cemetery. The Minority in Parliament says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not inform the House about his recent trip to Belgium as per Article 59 of the 1992 Constitution.
