Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee for Revision of Statutes, one of the two ad hoc committees approved at the Caf Executive Meeting in Manama, Bahrain. The Meeting saw the election of Ghanaian Nyantakyi as the First Vice President of the continent’s governing body for football. An explosion at factory near OLAM Oil Depot on the Sekondi-Takoradi highway on Tuesday morning has left several of the workers injured. The explosion is said to have kindled fire at the depot. According to Connect FM’s Henry Yankee, there was only one fire tender on site to control the spreading inferno but reinforcement came in albeit delayed. Fears the situation may escalate as a result of the location of the depot between two fuel stations were, as a result, controlled. Liberal Moon Jae-in is the clear front-runner with centrist Ahn Cheol-soo his nearest challenger. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive for Talensi in the Upper East Region, Christopher Boatbil Someteima, has been rejected by assembly members. Mr Someteima failed to secure the two-thirds majority votes in Monday’s confirmation election. Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has been confirmed as the first Vice president of the Confederation of African Football. At the first meeting of the Ahmad Administration in Bahrain on Monday, the CAF Executive Committee confirmed Mr Nyantakyi as the second most powerful person in African football.
