Thirty people who allegedly attacked a team of police personnel on duty at Libga, a community near Savelugu in the Northern Region, have been arrested. A single-barrel gun was retrieved from one of them, a woman, following a search on her, the Police said. The 13 were put before court Wednesday and three of them, including the woman, were granted bail while the others were remanded into prison custody to appear again on September 2. What happened? The acting Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh, has dispatched a team from the Police headquarters in Accra to assist the Central Regional Command to investigate the killing of two police officers at Kasoa. Sergeant Michael Dzamesi and Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal were on duty Wednesday afternoon when they were shot dead by some men in an unregistered vehicle at Buduburam near Kasoa in the Central Region. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding the outright dismissal of the suspended Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei who is accused of corruption and conflict of interest.
