Staff of Calbank at the head office in Accra have put to test skills they acquired in a fire safety training programme organized in partnership with the Ghana National Fire Service. The company conducted a fire safety drill which saw fire marshals of the bank successfully championing the evacuation of team members to the fire assembly point for a staff  headcount. Before the evacuation process, artificial smoke was created, and hydraulic ladders released by the Fire Service to evacuate staff on higher floors. Deputy Information Minister Pius Hadzide has said the appointment of Kwame Owusu as the new Board Chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), is based on an excellent track record in his previous position at the Ghana Maritime Authority. Human rights group, Amnesty International has lodged a complaint with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate allegations of human rights abuse of murder suspect Gregory Afoko, who is currently standing trial. The group wants  a full-scale investigation into circumstances that compelled the Ghana Police Service to refuse to enforce the bail granted Gregory Afoko by an Accra High Court.
