A human rights lawyer, Francis-Xavier Sosu, wants the Attorney General’s (AG) Department to take up the case in which a police officer was captured on video assaulting a woman at the Midland Savings and Loans Company. A mini cargo truck carrying marijuana concealed in bags of charcoal crashed Saturday morning killing the driver and his conductor instantly. The accident happened at about 5:00am on the Accra-Kumasi highway after the driver was said to have ignored a signal by some security personnel to stop at a checkpoint around Linda Dor Rest Stop. Government has commenced preparatory work on the implementation of the Right to Information Bill (RTI) ahead of its passage by parliament this week. Parliament has completed the consideration stage of the RTI bill after several policy changes and amendments and months of rigorous debates on the floor of the House.
