The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has referred a petition by some unknown staff of the Electoral Commission seeking to impeach its head Mrs. Charlotte Osei to the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo. Former Attorney General Martin Amidu says the insertion of Clause 3(4) into the Office of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Bill at the blind side of the public is an attempt by some “strong and powerful cabal within government” to neutralize the effectiveness of the Bill. A high powered government delegation has been tasked by the president to assess the disaster situation in some parts of the Northern region following Tuesday night downpour. At least two persons have been reported dead as a result of the flood that engulfed Tamale, Gushegu, Karaga, Yendi, Bimbilla and other parts of the region. Government has subsequently expressed its condolences to the families of two people who lost their lives.
