Murdered Ghanaian military officer, Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, has posthumously graduated from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. The late Maj. Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency Isaac Adongo has punched holes in the recent assertion by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia that the economy is growing. President Akufo-Addo has appointed former National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, as the Chairman of the Ghana Lands Commission governing board. His appointment was in consultation with the Council of State pursuant to Section 5 of the Lands Commission of 1994, Act 483. Prosecutors in the illegal mining case involving En Huang, aka Aisha Hung, and four other Chinese nationals, have told the Accra High Court that Aisha’s supposed Ghanaian husband is nowhere to be found. Mrs Yvonne Atakora Oboubisa, the Director of Public Prosecutions, told the Court that all efforts to reach the supposed husband of Aisha had proved futile. “Our investigation has shown that the supposed husband holds three passports of different countries,” she added. More than 20% of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s mining revenue is being lost due to corruption and mismanagement, a campaign group says. According to a Global Witness report, the money is being distributed through corrupt networks linked to President Joseph Kabila.
