The 50 ministers and 60 deputy ministers appointed by President Akufo-Addo are yet to receive their salary months after they were sworn into office. There was public outcry following the nomination of these 110 appointees appointed between February and March. Seven US Navy crew members are missing after their ship collided with a merchant vessel off the coast of Japan. Among the injured is the USS Fitzgerald’s commanding officer, who was taken to hospital by helicopter. The destroyer collided with the container ship about 56 nautical miles (104km) south-west of Yokosuka. The Ghana Community Network Services Limited (GcNET) has expressed confidence in meeting government’s deadline to achieve 100 percent paperless transactions at the ports by September this year. Over thirteen thousand French teachers will be required within five years to support the policy of making French a compulsory subject in basic schools. A report from the University of Education, Winneba, shows that only 10 percent out of the fourteen thousand basic schools in the country teach French.
