The National Health Insurance Authority has reached an agreement with a group of New Patriotic Party youth  who locked up two offices of the National Health Insurance Scheme in Tamale and Sagnerigu to protest the continuous stay in office of four officials. The four officials said to be National Democratic Congress members and appointed under the John Mahama-led government, are not to step foot in their respective offices again, the two sides have agreed. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has submitted to the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, the full list of government appointees to serve on the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to pave the way for their inauguration. A meeting of the Assembly is expected to be convened soon to swear into office the appointees. The Canadian government is set to inject a total of 120m dollars (125 million Canadian Dollars) into the Planting For Food and Jobs initiative being spearheaded by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the parliament to extend his medical leave in the UK, amid concerns that his health may be worse than officials are publicly saying. The 74-year-old leader, who has been out of the country for two weeks, was expected to return to Abuja on Sunday.
