The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has embarked on an official working visit to Hong-Kong.

The purpose of establishing the visit centers around investment opportunities for Ghana’s mining industry.

The Minister was received on Wednesday by Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu.

Welcoming the Minister to the Asian country, the Ambassador expressed optimism that his visit should open windows of opportunities for investors interested in mining and related areas to do follow up visits to Ghana.

In his response to the warm welcome received and the brief remarks, the Minister said he looked forward to engaging the business community considering the desire and determination made to open up the country’s mining industry to investors.

While in Hong-Kong, the Minister would engage a business group on Thursday and continue with another engagement with members of the Hong-Kong Stock Exchange.

The stock exchange of Hong-Kong is described as one of the most influential and busiest in the world.

Consequently, the Minister is hoping to tap into the pool of investment opportunities available at the stocks.

The official visit of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources to Hong-Kong falls in line with the Ministry’s constant search for appropriate investors to turn their attention to the country’s growing mining industry.

During his brief engagement with the Ambassador, they all appeared excited about the move being made to attract qualified mining companies and investors into Ghana.

Since assuming office in January 2026, Ambassador Kojo Bonsu has been campaigning vigorously for improved Ghana, China trade relations.

He officially presented his letters of credence to Chinese President Xi Jinping on January 16, 2026, assuming his role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana to the People’s Republic of China.

Ambassador Bonsu operates out of the Ghanaian diplomatic mission located in Beijing, which also holds concurrent accreditation for Mongolia, Nepal, Palau, and North Korea.
