The Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) has urged the public to disregard any publications to the effect that the red notice put out by Interpol regarding former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta no longer holds.
It says Mr Ofori-Atta’s name, image and details have only been redacted following an application he made last month.
A public notice from the OSP on Wednesday, November 19 stressed that the country’s longest-serving Finance Minister had applied for the removal of his name from Interpol’s Red Notice.
As a result, it explained further, the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files notified Ghanaian authorities on a possible response to Mr Ofori-Atta’s application.
“Ghana’s response was duly submitted on 22 October 2025.”
According to OSP’s notice, Mr Ofori-Atta filed additional arguments on Friday, November 7 in an addendum, for which Interpol’s Commission of the Control of Files requested a response from Ghana.
“The proceedings are still pending and the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files is still studying the case.
“During the pendency of the proceedings, the Applicant’s name, image and details are often redacted from public view until a final determination is made.”
