The second edition of the Worm-Free Child Project came off on February 25, at the Libya Quarters Park in Madina, Accra.
The project which gathered children from all walks of life, saw over 1700 children being dewormed by a team of health professionals and volunteers.
The children were also educated on the need to keep their environment clean, maintain a healthy lifestyle and take regular deworming seriously.
The event was a stellar success reaching out to more children than the first edition which saw about 700 children in the Bukom community being beneficiaries.
Among other goodies, the children were given clothing, shoes and toys.
The Worm-Free Child Project was organised by Cradle to Crayon Ghana in collaboration with Shop n Save Supermarkets.
The Project which was launched in August 2016 seeks to provide medical assistance and moral support to deprived communities with high incidence of worm infestation.
This is aimed at curbing worm infestation, increasing children’s resistance to infections, reducing anaemia and promoting healthy living in the average Ghanaian child.
