A four-year-old boy who was reported missing in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis of the Western Region has been found dead 24 hours later.
The lifeless body of Justice Kofi Minta was on Sunday found floating in a small lagoon close to a Police barracks at Effia.
He was said to have drowned in the lagoon in an attempt to remove a ball he was playing with his colleagues in the area Saturday afternoon.
Residents who were shocked by the incident could not hold back their tears as the body of the kindergarten pupil was discovered at about 4:30pm, host of Takoradi-based connect FM morning show (Omanbapa), Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, reported.
Some neighbours told our correspondent the boy was playing football with his colleagues when the ball fell into the lagoon and in his attempt to retrieve it, got drowned.

His colleagues, according to the neighbours, kept it to themselves out of fear until Sunday when his body was eventually discovered floating in the lagoon.
A report was immediately made to the police who have since retrieved the body and conveyed it to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue while investigation into the case continues.
