The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspected human trafficking operators and rescued 48 victims in two intelligence-led operations conducted in Ho, the Volta Region.
The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu, and Prince Kaku, were apprehended on 8th and 10th January 2026 at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road, and Somey Junction.
The rescued victims, primarily young adults and students, were reportedly lured with promises of overseas travel and held under deceptive and coercive conditions. Investigators discovered official receipts issued to victims for purported visa services, alongside documents linked to other fraudulent activities.
All seven suspects remain in police custody assisting ongoing investigations, while efforts continue to locate the victims’ parents or relatives and apprehend additional members of the trafficking syndicate who remain at large.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and safeguarding the public from organised scams. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
The operations highlight the Service’s continued dedication to intelligence-led policing and protecting vulnerable members of society from exploitation.
