A student of Obrachire Senior High and Technical School has lost his life after being assaulted by fellow students during the District Schools Athletics Games.
It is unclear what caused the assault but videos posted online sees the student attacked and stoned.
Some come to his defence but give way as a result of the missiles pelted at the victim.
According to reports, he failed to survive the attack.
The Central Region Director of Education, Dr Juliet Dufie Otami has described the violence leading to the death of the student as “deeply disturbing, reprehensible and wholly unacceptable”.
“School sporting activities are organised to promote unity, discipline, team work, sportsmanship and healthy competition,” Dr Dufie Otami said in a statement released on Saturday.
