In his view, Nana Akaufo-Addo is not a unifier because he sounds more like a serial caller in his speeches.
Speaking on TV3’s New Day Monday, the lawyer observed the posture of the President on public issues is very partisan.
“This president does not exude any sense of unity when he speaks. When my President speaks, I don’t want it to be like another serial caller is talking, no! When my President speaks, I want it to be above board …but listen to this president and I call him democratic dictator”, Mr. Amaliba said.
“He thinks that there should be any attempt to challenge what he does and what he does is the best”, he added.
Though Mr. Amaliba admitted some presidents in the previous administrations have also exhibited some partisanship, he stated that Akufo-Addo has deepened it.
“This President has deepened it in this administration”, he said, referring to Akufo-Addo’s posture on partisan issues.
He made specific reference to Akufo-Addo’s recent swipe at former President John Mahama when he said it was better to invest in drones for health than to invest in guinea fowls which were said to have flown to Burkina Faso.
According to Mr. Amaliba, it would have been justified for a serial caller to have made that guinea fowl analogy but unpardonable for the President to toe that line, emphasising that was a sign of intolerance.
“This president is heavily, heavily partisan and that is his nature”, he reiterated.
He said it was his expectation that the president would use the opportunity to shed more light on the controversial drone project which the government is embarking on to have drones deliver essential medical supplies.
