A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Music of the University of Ghana, Professor Edmund John Collins, says the generation of Ghanaian musicians who brought what was later referred to as ‘hiplife’ wanted to have nothing to do with the know Ghanaian genre of highlife. About 60 per cent of school children in the Kassena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region have benefited from a World Vision International donation of bicycles as their schools are between three to six kilometers from their homes.
