An abandoned bridge connecting the new sawmills and the Agona Asafo community in the Central Region is really impeding development in the area. Residents and saw millers are therefore calling on the Agona East District Assembly to complete work on the bridge to make it accessible. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on government to take proactive steps to safeguard Ghana’s maritime boundary with Togo. Kenya has been stripped of the right to host the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) following a Confederation of African Football (Caf) executive committee meeting in Accra. The decision was announced at a media conference after a one-day meeting headed by Caf’s president Ahmad. US bombers have flown close to North Korea’s east coast to demonstrate the military options available to defeat any threat, the Pentagon has said. It said the flight was the farthest north of the demilitarised zone between the Koreas that any US fighter jet or bomber had flown in the 21st Century. Tullow Oil plc has welcomed the decision of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in the maritime dispute between Ghana and La Cote d’Ivoire.
