MPs have overwhelmingly agreed to let the government begin the UK’s departure from the EU in their final vote on the Brexit bill. The draft legislation was approved by 494 votes to 122, and now moves to the House of Lords. Shadow business secretary Clive Lewis was one of 52 Labour MPs to defy party orders to back the bill and he resigned from the front bench. Fourteen-time major winner Tiger Woods says he will “never feel great” again because of the number of injuries suffered during his career. Woods, 41, pulled out of the Dubai Desert Classic before the second round this month because of a back spasm. The new management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has with immediate effect withdrawn the appointment of staff employed in the final months of the Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte. “The decision has been informed by a thorough consideration of violations of due process prior to the recruitment,” a statement released by the recently appointed Executive Director, Mustapha Ussif, said. ActionAid Ghana has bemoaned the 20 per cent representation of women in the appointments of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo so far. After nominating 36 persons for ministerial appointments and an additional 10 to head Ghana’s regions, only nine are women.
