Major student unions in the country have resolved to get the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John-Peter Amewu, to backtrack on his decision to close down the School of Surveying and Mapping. Mr Amewu ordered the closure of the school following a demonstration by students against suspected sale of the school’s lands by the Land Commission. Mr Amewu asked the Commission to re-assign staff of the School while ordering students to vacate the campus and hostels.
