A Senior Lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has stressed that the government’s approach in the recent fight against illegal mining is not sustainable. “I think the approach is a wrong approach,” Dr Ahmed Jinapor said on Saturday, May 27. British Airways has cancelled all flights from Heathrow and Gatwick until 18:00 BST because of computer problems. A “major IT system failure is causing very severe disruption to our flight operations worldwide”, the airline said. It apologised for the “global system outage” and said it was “working to resolve the problem”. Heathrow Airport said it was “working closely” with BA to solve the issue. Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been enstooled a chief by the Paramount Chief of Monrovia, Liberia in a short ceremony. President Akufo-Addo was in the Liberian capital on Friday, May 26 as part of the third leg of his tour of West Africa.
