About 19 more police recruits have been dismissed barely a week after 3news.com reported of 22 sacked trainees from the Pwulugu Police Training School. Out of the latest number, 10 are from the National Police Training School (NPTS) in Kumasi, five from Accra and two each from ho and Koforidua. The Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC) has pledged its commitment to the 2017 budget statement and economic policy of government, describing it as an “ambitious one that seeks to address the challenges confronting our country”. Student population in the first senior high school (SHS) at Ekumfi Otuam in the Central Region has reduced, according to the Member of Parliament for Ekumfi Constituency. Named after former late President John Evans Atta Mills, the community day SHS was commissioned in 2015. But less than two years, the school population has reduced drastically. Ivory Coast have named former Belgium international Marc Wilmots as their new head coach to replace Michel Dussuyer. The 48-year-old Wilmots was coach of Belgium between 2012 and 2016 and lead them to the World Cup in Brazil. The US has announced a ban on large electronic devices from cabin baggage on passenger flights from eight Muslim majority countries. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said extremists were seeking “innovative methods” to bring down jets. Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has visited the Wenchi Methodist Senior High School (WESS), which was hardest hit by last Sunday’s disaster at ground zero of the Kintampo waterfalls in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
