Water production at the Weija Treatment Plant in Accra is expected to resume Wednesday morning following the completion of repair works on a major transmission pipeline burst at Malam-Gbawe Tuesday. The pipeline which burst Tuesday morning caused water production at the plant to be shut, cutting water supply to thousands of homes and business in western part of Accra. About 50 pedestrians have been arrested by the Police at Madina in Accra for indiscriminately crossing the Adenta-Madina highway at unapproved spots. Liberia has been named number one in the world when it comes to helping strangers, according to the World Giving Index, an annual ranking of people’s generosity. Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has been forced to suspend her annual address after being heckled in parliament.
