A man who the Police have described as “known criminal” in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region, has been handed a 20-year jail term for armed robbery. The 23-year-old Wakilu Adams, who is a farmer at Siriyiri, was found in someone’s room with offensive weapons searching through bags at about 2:00 a.m. on September 21. According to the police, Adams engaged the victim in a fierce struggle and in the process inflicted several cutlass wounds on him. The Acting Executive Director of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA-GHANA) Susan Aryeetey, has highlighted the impact of sexual harassment on victims. “The impact is very serious. It leads to depression. Ladies cannot learn because they see lecturers and start panting”. Pharrell Williams says the controversy surrounding Blurred Lines made him realise some of his songs “catered” to a sexist culture.
